fruit of the gods.

Eating pomegranate seeds like I'm freakin' Aphrodite or something. ;)

I promise I'm not lame.

What do you call a lazy baby kangaroo?

a pouch potato!

I wonder how many of us are currently spending our Friday nights curled up on the couch, with nachos (black beans, corn, cherry tomatoes and greek yogurt instead of sour cream-woah there, health nut!) and THE GREATEST NEW SHOW TO HIT THE STREETS/YOUR CABLE BOX.

Uh, has anyone heard of Treehouse Masters? Has anyone ever wanted to make their biggest childhood dream come true? *hand up*. Does anyone want to donate tens of thousands of dollars to me so I can pay someone to build a megahouse made of 2x4s and magic? Well if so, my routing number is...

classes have started back.

Which means my tuchas is planted firmly in front of Vampire Diaries with a big ole mug of tea and a complete lack of motivation to do anything related to school.

Nooo thank you.

finders keepers.

What do you do when you find a tie dye onesie (excuse me, I mean jumpsuit) buried beneath your mother's old things? You put it on your body and have an ANTM (circa 1969) photoshoot. By yourself. Because you have friends and stuff.

Happy Sunday!

let's talk Ireland, part one. (getting there, got there)

*Update: I never ever ever got around to writing part two. Let's just stick to this synopsis - Pub Crawls, kissing Blarney Stones, making new friends, sleeping in hostels, having a grand ole time and more*

It only took me two months to get around to blogging about my eight day dream-like trip to Ireland. Look at me go. Let's go!

First off, a very professionally edited map detailing my three destinations in the Republic of Ireland:

Professional and super impressive? Right? Thought so.
Now that the basics are taken care of, let's dive in!

While studying in England, we were given a week or so break-Development Week. Some of the American girls booked a Mediterranean cruise (beautiful) and others booked a hiking trip throughout Scotland (also beautiful). Adrienne and I found some cheap flights to Ireland and let the rest just fall into place. Isn't impromptu traveling a must for your 21st year? The only thing we knew was that there were three cities we had to visit-Galway, Cork, and Dublin. We booked our hostels and left transportation, attractions, and the like up to the universe to determine.

Adrienne, excited to be alive.
Me, excited to be alive.
We were both really excited to be alive. Who knows how trusty a £15 flight can be?

Speaking of £15 flights, I am still so astonished that flights can be so inexpensive. If you are currently snuggled in your bed, in your house, in a country that is so very close to another, get outta bed and hop to it, partner! No excuses! Travel in America just does not exist like that. Of course, there were reasons we found such cheap flights. We could only bring up to 20 lbs. worth of a carry-on with us (and that INCLUDED ANY PERSONAL BAGS SUCH AS A PURSE/ETC.). Googling RyanAir will show you the many reasons why they're able to charge such little amounts, but regardless of the horror stories one hears, our flights were safe and happy and the flight attendants were just fine. Don't be such a chicken, world. ;) We landed just north of Galway, in a tiny little airport that the locals seemed to joke about(?). After a 45 minute or so bus ride, we were home!

Why Galway? Because we're terribly embarrassing girls, that's why! Ever watched P.S I Love You? Ever openeded your ears while watching P.S I Love You? Galway Girl is like, the entire soundtrack. If it's such a good song, it must be a good place, right? Right!

Okay that's embarrassing and pretty much the truth but also we wanted to go there because a friend told us that while in Ireland, we needed to visit the Cliffs of Moher. The Cliffs of Moher is just a happy little ride away from Galway. Two birds with one stone, traveler of the year award 2013. ;)

Some mystical pull allowed us to find our hostel (Sleep Zone) without too much wandering and although by the time we finally walked through its doors it was dark outside and we were exhausted, we had made it. Also, our hostel was pretty sweet.

PART TWO IS ON ITS WAY! While you wait, just let Gerard Butler sing to you a bit.

rolling up the mountain.

All I have done today is cook for my dad...and eat every bite that came out of the pan. I'm probably going to have to roll back up the mountain tomorrow. Jonathan will have to deflate me like I'm Violet Beauregarde and I'm filled with blueberry juice (but it's more realistic that I'd be filled with omelets and zucchini boats and chocolate brownie sundaes). That's fine. I'll be blue. I hear it's a popular color anyway. ;)

from the land of the living (or from one adventure to the next).

I have been living in a tree house for the past week and a half.
A tree house tucked away in the rain forests of Borneo.
A tree house with fluffy carpet and heating units and a tea nook...and maybe it isn't really deep in the rain forests of Borneo.

Jonathan and I just made the move into our new place and we couldn't be happier! I say that with all sincerity and with a heart full of gratitude because this journey has been, at times, difficult and frustrating and has only been possible because we both have extremely helpful (and patient) support systems. After dealing with power companies, internet/cable companies, furniture deliveries and the task of arranging, rearranging, and re-rearranging, the apartment is (nearly) complete. Okay, it's far from complete but at least it looks like it could suffice as a nice vacation unit for a week or two.

Time to decorate! Time to unload the entirety of Pinterest onto a 900 square foot spot on the universe. Time to cuddle up with my favorite boy on our squishy new couch and watch one-thousand episodes of Community because I can't control myself.

Pictures to come!

xoxo
